In recent days and weeks I’ve been looking through a lot of photos for some calendars I’m making, and have been reminded of the remarkable and rare sight of a frozen River Ouse, on this day, Christmas Day, in 2010.
It doesn’t feel like it was a whole nine years ago, but apparently it was.
I wrote about it at the time, and included some photos, quite small.
As I’m writing two pages today (partly to make up for not adding anything yesterday in my so-called ‘December Daily‘), I’m not going to add any more words to this page — please revisit the 2010 page for the contemporary account of The Days the Ouse Froze Over — but a couple of photos follow as a reminder of that very harsh winter weather at this time in 2010.
