Sounds, York 2012

About an hour and a quarter left of 2012 at the time of writing.

I thought this was worth a go … as an alternative representation of 2012, through this resident’s eyes. Well, ears. Just for a change.

Recorded clips from my mobile phone, at various places on the streets of York, this year. It’s not in the slightest bit hi-tech. But anyway, this is proper York. The bits this citizen wanted to record, this year, 2012. Notes below on what you’re hearing, as it’s perhaps not immediately obvious …

  1. Absolutely brilliant, top quality as ever. This site is often imitated but never bettered.

    :) Thank you

  3. It might be lo-tech but it is a really creative way of marking a year – always a pleasure to visit your site.

    Thank you Bob, much appreciated.
I hadn’t really realised I had some kind of ‘2012 retrospective’ on my phone, until transferring photos from phone to computer and remembering I had these fragments of crackly audio, recorded on a whim at various times.

Perhaps audioboo is a more appropriate repository for this kind of thing. I’ve added a shortened version there: http://audioboo.fm/boos/1142576-from-the-streets-of-york-uk-2012
