A view from … ?

A photo from a wander on a grey and damp evening earlier this year. A handsome collection of rooftops and churches. I thought we could do a a bit of a quiz-type thing, like I used to do. Do you recognise this view? Where’s it taken from? (Revealed below, so stop scrolling if you want to play along with the quiz-type thing. One clue follows …)

View, buildings

Just behind me, as I took the photo above, a detail of the building I took it from:

Detail, 'and we were all yellow'

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say, but on that gloomy evening I found all this yellow rather beautiful. Manufactured yellow paint, natural yellow lichen thriving alongside.

Yes, it’s ….

From Stonebow House car park

… lovely old Stonebow House, and the fine viewing platform of its car park.

In a survey earlier this year I asked if you’d ever been up to the car park level just to look at the view. Very few people said they had, so I thought I’d bring a bit of it to you.

A 2004 photo to follow, also from Stonebow House, of a view that has changed rather dramatically in recent years.
