Site improvements: update

I realise it probably looks as if I’m not investing much effort in these pages at the moment, as I’m not posting that often and seem to be mentioning mainly Lendal Bridge. Please be assured that a host of postings wait in the wings, including some really nice old photographs of York sent to me recently.

I’ve not been able to add much as I’m working on a modernisation of this website – yes, another one – not that long since the last one I know. But it’s necessary, and should bring several improvements, for me as the person who adds the content and for you, reading it.

This site is nearly a decade old and has around 650 pages/postings. It has several separate sections in completely different formats and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get them to fit together rather better than they do just now. I’ve been working on this for weeks now and in the last week or so I’ve been working on it all day every day, so I hope you’ll all understand why I haven’t been able to write much in terms of adding new pages, and hope you’ll bear with me.

Hoping to get the new format online this week. Was hoping for today, but too many problems to tackle first.

As the photos of Lendal Bridge signage weren’t exactly aesthetically pleasing, here’s one of an autumn scene, in an attempt to make up for that.

Beech tree, spire, blue sky
