Local details -1

I’m not too well at the moment, but before I retire wimpishly to my sick bed, thought I’d leave you with these two photos of local details, both from buildings within the city walls, a minute or two’s walk apart.

I took them, so know the buildings they decorate. But not saying. It’s a very basic ‘quiz’, a test of powers of observation. As well as an appreciation of the details adorning buildings we perhaps look at only vaguely, until we’ve got a camera in our hands. [Answers since added, see comments below]

Well, this is fun! Having spent the last half hour virtually wandering around York in Google Streetview, I can confidently say that I can express a piece of the answer, but have not yet managed to find the curly haired gentleman. Here goes another hour…

Thanks for this Lisa – get well soon – and keep these coming!

Thanks Andy – and I appreciate your not saying where, but keeping the ‘mystery’ going. I hope your computer provides Streetview more rapidly and smoothly than mine does! – tends to make me irritated/dizzy. (Or perhaps I was irritated and dizzy already.)
