I love these photos! As a student living on Seventh Avenue, this was my walk into town to work at City Screen. After going on to spend 6 years digging on Hungate, it got harder to remember the old buildings! Keep up the good work Lisa.

The map link works fine, thank you Colin for adding it.

There's a photo of the parish boundary marker you mention in one of my 'quiz type things' from a bit back: http://yorkstories.co.uk/local-details-quiz-type-thing-3/

I also remember Wynsors on Clarence St, though now so used to the York St John buildings there. Clarence St another place that has changed dramatically in the last 40 years or so, as so many streets outside the historic core have.

I love this map which takes us back to 1872, well before Stone Bow but showing Garden Place joining Hungate before it meets St. Saviourgate. (hope the link works)

http://www.british-history.ac.uk/mapsheet.aspx?compid=55218&sheetid=10382&ox=4611&oy=2749&zm=1&czm=1&x=390&y=305

We can also see where Peasholme Green meets Haymarket, most recently associated with a car park but also part of the wider Hungate development.

The Quilt Museum is marked as "school", Blue Coats from the plaque that's there. Look up and the side of the building has a parish boundary marker.

Back on the more modern, I remember Wynsors here and briefly over on the YSJ Site near where Fountains Learning Centre stands. I'd forgotten A Team at this location, they moved over to Mill Lane in Heworth.
