York walks: 2004

What can I say. It's just the one picture, but I couldn't walk past Clifford's Tower without taking it, on a clear bright morning in February 2004.

I can't do justice to the history and importance of this place in a few words here. A link giving more information is below. In recent years many hard-working and committed citizens of York – and further afield – have worked to save this monument from the planned commercial redevelopment of the areas around it.
