That Hutchinson and Palliser book is a favourite of mine, really informative, nice turn of phrase, and with many wry observations on architecture and townscape disasters. But their comments above seemed a little harsh!&lt;/p&gt;

		<description><![CDATA[&lt;p&gt;Hutcinson and Pallister sound like snotty pseudo academics sneering at populist attractions. I never missed going to The YS and I holidayed on York every year from &#8216;86 to the start of the millennium. I recall a golden sea horse from an old Inn sign and the puzzling diarama.. I never tired of the audio visual presentation with tales of King Venetius and Queen Cartamandua. Val Singleton was the narrator I think&lt;/p&gt;
