Memorials: introduction

On my wanders through York and Yorkshire, I've admired many memorials, some small and simple, some massive and ornate.

War memorials

• Monument to Sir Tatton Sykes (Garton-on-the-Wolds) - a huge Gothic-style landmark
• The Sykes family dogs memorial - canine friends remembered in style
