Local details: quiz-type thing /3

Many quirky and interesting details in York. Here’s another 2-picture test of your powers of observation.

Where in the city centre can these details be found? Both visible from the street, and a minute or two’s walk apart. (Have to confess that I only recently noticed the second one, must have walked past it hundreds of times.)

1 – On Aldwark, Peasholme Green end, on the side of St Anthony’s Hall (Quilt Museum)

2 – In the side wall of the passage connecting Bedern and Goodramgate (opposite the National Trust Shop)

    I’d not seen the site of the first picture but there’s another identical metal plaque on the brick wall above the small gate way and the Blue Coats memorial stone.

    I must look again. There’s a website devoted to these in London which has some very interesting variations.
