First time I saw this idea I thought it had to be a joke. It is a ghastly, dreadful idea.

It should be highlighted, kept maintained, treasured and not abused.

'The presence of the mini golf course will mean that a currently much underappreciated area of York that is rich in heritage will be known and enjoyed by a wider audience, including people who wouldn’t normally visit a historic space.'
If the 'wider audience' is playing golf its historic value may well go unnoticed. In the hustle and bustle that is York these days, a quiet space is important, somewhere to sit, read, think or daydream. Why does everywhere have to have some activity or other to justify it. I can't think of any other quiet corners like this. Why shouldn't we locals have a small quiet spot away from the madding crowd.
