Seems like a missed opportunity. When you look at older ( pre-war) architecture in York, it was mostly cutting edge and of high quality when compared with architecture of the same vintage elsewhere in Yorkshire.

The old building was a gloomy old pile, but the new is hardly an improvement – I hadn’t seen the development for a while. Not sure I would ever want to pay premium prices to live there.
