Terry Deary has a long and colourful history of saying hyperbolic things about a whole list of people and issues, so I would take what he said about Rougier St with a large pinch of salt. For a historian he can appear to lack a sense of perpective, preferring to delight in getting up the noses of people.
You can't argue though with his literary output, nor his record in making History accessible.
Always very pleased to receive an update of York Stories. Thank you, Lisa.
