		<description><![CDATA[I have no idea about the tunnels themselves but if you walk around York (Gilligate for instance) everysoften you&#039;ll find a big glass marble embedded in the pavement these appear to be fairly evenly spaced and at they are coloured red either side of junctions.  I believe these are providing skylights for tunnels under these roads]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Surely there&#039;s loads. Just look at the side of the river ouse underneath coney Street.! A friend of mine worked in O&#039;Neils and he said in the basement there were tunnels leading off it which he always wanted to go down but never had a torch.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Most secret medieval tunnels were created during the English reformation and henry tudors dissolution of the monasteries. Mainly by the monks which prevented them from being documented, tunnels with purpose such as sewers etc are probably more likely to be roman.]]></description>
